CORNELL IMPROVES ILLINOIS STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION SUMMATIVE DESIGNATION!

 Beginning in 2018 each Illinois school received a Summative Designation, a measure of academic performance and student success.

The following is a chronological list of the Summative Designation at Cornell Elementary School.

2018      Targeted                              A school in which one or more student groups is in the lowest 5%                                                                              of Illinois schools.  Student group identified was low income.

2019      Comprehensive           A school that is performing in the lowest 5% of Illinois schools.

2020     Comprehensive          A school that is performing in the lowest 5% of Illinois schools.

2021       Waived                                No designation due to COVID.

2022      Commendable             Overall performance not in the top 10% of Illinois schools.  Must                                                                                    have no underperforming student groups in the lowest 5% of                                                                                          Illinois  schools.

2023      Commendable            Overall performance not in the top 10% of Illinois schools.  Must                                                                                    have no underperforming student groups in the lowest 5% of                                                                                           Illinois  schools.

The significant improvement demonstrated is all due to the collective efforts of a dedicated staff.  This is particularly remarkable considering the administrative turnover experienced here at Cornell.
