The Flanagan-Cornell Unit District 74 Board of Education is conducting a search for a new superintendent. The selection of a new superintendent is probably the most important decision a board of education has to make; therefore, the Board has hired the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to assist in this process. The Board of Education is seeking everyone’s input in the search process. The Board requests that all board members, all staff, all parents and community members complete an online survey provided by the IASB. The results will be tallied and used by the Board and Screening Team to develop a brochure to advertise the position. All survey responses and comments will remain anonymous. The survey for Cornell Elementary School staff and parents can be accessed at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DMX9DBX There is no password for this group. The survey deadline is February 16, 2025 at 11:45 p.m. Thank you for taking time to complete the survey.

Unfortunately due to the gas leak in the school we are dismissing student at 12:15, if your students ride a bus a bus will be bringing them home, otherwise parents need to make arrangements to pick up their students at the purple park. You will need to sign students out if you pick them up. We were unfortunately unable to serve lunch due to the gas leak. As of right now conferences are still on, we will notify you if that changes.

Fall Fest is Next Week on Thursday, October 17th from 4:30-6:30. Join us for: a $5 Hot Dog Meal Free Games Scholastic Book Fair & 8th Graders will be having a silent auction of their art work to raise money for their class trip. We cannot wait to see you all there!

The Cornell PTC/Athletic Boosters Club would like to thank everyone who came out to our Coaches vs Kids Night on March 21st. We also want to thank everyone who contributed to our silent auction items for the Coaches vs Kids night. We raised $2,298.75 at this event. PTC had a successful year of fundraising thanks to the outstanding community support we have had this year. PTC’s largest purchase this year was the new gymnasium wall pads, installed over spring break. Thank you all for the amazing support! GO COUGARS!

Due to hazardous road conditions there will be no school for Cornell Grade School tomorrow Tuesday, January 23rd. This will be a regular emergency day with no-e-learning to preserve 2 e-learning days for future need. Stay Safe.

ALL GAMES ARE CANCELLED for tomorrow Jan. 16. 6th Grade Volleyball in Bloomington for tonight 1/15 is also Cancelled. Basketball games for tomorrow are rescheduled for Friday night (this will be 8th Grade night) Volleyball for Tomorrow will be rescheduled at a later date.
